Here is a short list of things you can do to streamline your experience using Restoration by Design:

-There will be many opportunities to download information and view external links.  It might be helpful to create a file to contain downloads and a bookmarks folder to keep track of other useful websites.

-Generally outside links will be in green and downloads and internal links will be in orange.

-Most subjects will be organized into series of sub categories.  Using the “contents” section of the side bar will allow you to return to almost any starting point instantly.

-Many of the links and applications available on the individual pages can be accessed in the “links” section of the side bar.  Use this for quick reference later.

-The community forum listed inder the communicate heading cannot be used to store images or documents.  You will want to familiarize yourself with the various photo and document sharing web applications in order to link to large files that you want to share with others.  Google Docs is a simple and robust document and file sharing application that is free.  Picasa and Flickr both offer free photo sharing in an easy to use interface.

-Don’t get overwhelmed.  Pick through the content in the “create” section one heading at a time.  The information presented becomes increasingly complex as you continue down any given path.  You can choose to explore any given topic to whatever level is comfortable for you at the time.  If there is something you don’t understand, you can use the community forum to ask questions of others or speak with us directly.

-The community forum is essentially a database of conversations had between restoration practitioners.  Use the “Search” function to access a wealth of information about any given topic.

Have fun!  After all, the information presented is meant to make you more confident in the great work you are doing.
